Council Member Marqueece Harris-Dawson, local residents, local Black artists and cultural influencers have come together to begin to plan a 1.1-mile, open-air art museum. Per the LA Sentinel, the project dubbed Destination Crenshaw will run along Crenshaw Boulevard between 48th Street and 60th Street, where the upcoming Crenshaw/LAX Line will run at-grade.
The first-of-its-kind project will celebrate Black history and honor the contributions of Black Americans through a living, breathing streetscape. For more on Destination Crenshaw, visit destinationcrenshaw.la where you can participate in a community survey to help guide the project.
