In West Adams, Labor Day Weekend means it’s time for the annual West Adams Avenues Jazz & Music Festival. The FREE neighborhood event offers three full nights of music and showcases renowned musicians playing everything from Jazz and Gospel to Zydeco, Blues and Funk. Bring a picnic basket, lawn chairs and enjoy the end of summer with neighbors and friends. The festivities happen along 7th Avenue in the block just North of W. Adams Boulevard and South of 25th Street.
Last year’s event shattered all expectations with more than 5,000 attendees. Beyond music, you’ll find fabulous local food, dancing in the streets, dance contests, activities for the kids as well as arts, crafts and jewelry from local artisans. See the full schedule below and visit the event Facebook page for ongoing updates throughout the weekend. Performers include Malandro N’ Motion, an LA-based dance company striving to expand people’s knowledge of Brazilian dance and culture as well as the amazing violin player Lila Hood.
